Waste Management
Zero Waste to Ganga in Muni Ki Reti Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand
The project underlines the vision to transform Muni Ki Reti as a Solid Waste Management (SWM) model with zero dumping into river Ganga. It aims to highlight the impact of mismanagement of waste in one of the high tourist footfall cities next to the Ganga banks and to work closely with local stakeholders to develop a sustainable model ensuring efficient use of resources and potential recycling of waste generated by the city.

Green Mile Project, Darjeeling & Kalimpong district, West Bengal
The main aim of this project is to prevent the indiscriminate dumping of waste into the 8 Mile River (in the 2 KM selected by us, near our farm), due to lack of awareness among villagers/visitors, plus lack of finances/ technical knowledge on implementing scientific waste processing methods. The other problem that we aim to tackle is the informal waste collection and processing methods utilized by the waste pickers in this area. There is also the secondary issue of indiscriminate dumping of waste into the river, which is further exacerbating the problem of ecosystem damage. We will also tackle the menace of Plastic, one of the biggest challenges faced across all geographies in India, that remains a difficult problem to solve, seeing that it involves both behavioral change (from the stakeholders choosing convenience over effort) as well as bottom-up solutions (to process, repurpose and recycle such waste).
